Our Values

Mother and Nature is committed to creating safe and inclusive spaces in our business practices, events, and online presence.
Hate has no place here, or anywhere we are. We are committed to the ongoing learning/unlearning and anti-oppression work that is necessary for us as a white-owned business. We will not remain silent or complacent when it comes to oppression, including (but not limited to): racism, sexism, ableism, discrimination, homophobia, and transphobia.
We acknowledge that we still have much to learn and unlearn about all forms of oppression, not just those listed above. We also acknowledge the privilege we hold in being able to learn about these forms of oppression without them being part of our lived experiences. We are always open to feedback on how we can do better. Please contact us to provide feedback.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support of our small business.
__________
Mother and Nature acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg ( Ah-nish-NAH-beg) people, which include the Odawa ( Oh-DAH-wah), Ojibwe ( O-jib-we), and Pottawatomi ( boh-tah-WAH-toh-mee) Nations, and the Wendat ( wen-dat) Nation (Huron) prior to the middle of the 17th century. This land is currently referred to by its settler name of Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
We acknowledge the grave injustices and genocide committed against First Nations, Métis, and Inuit People on this land. We are committed to honouring Indigenous history and culture while moving forward towards reconciliation.
